Faculty of Humanities Inspires Future Learners through Humanities Day 2026

On 4 August 2026, the Educational Services Unit of the Faculty of Humanities, Naresuan University, led by Dr. Niparat Imsilp, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, successfully organized Humanities Day 2026 at the Faculty of Humanities. The event was officially opened by Assistant Professor Dr. Jaroon Sarin, Vice President for Special Affairs. On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Onusa Suwanpratest, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, delivered the opening report and presented commemorative gifts to representatives from more than 70 participating schools from across Thailand.

Held under the theme “Humanities: The Science of Lifelong Learning,” Humanities Day 2026 brought together secondary school students, teachers, university students, and members of the public for a vibrant celebration of languages, cultures, arts, and the humanities. Through a diverse programme of academic competitions, exhibitions, performances, and interactive learning activities, the event highlighted the transformative role of the humanities in nurturing creativity, critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and lifelong learning.

Participants enjoyed a wide range of activities, including educational guidance sessions, academic talks, humanities exhibitions, and cultural performances. A series of competitions encouraged students to demonstrate their talents across multiple disciplines, including an English Spelling Bee, language and culture quizzes in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, Korean picture-based storytelling, French illustration and creative writing, Myanmar language skills competitions, AI-assisted digital storytelling, and Thai and Western music competitions.

Another key attraction was the Languages and Multicultural World exhibition, where every academic programme within the Faculty introduced its curriculum through interactive booths and hands-on activities. The exhibition provided prospective students with valuable opportunities to explore their interests, discover their strengths, and gain insights into future academic pathways and career opportunities.

A special highlight of this year’s event was the participation of the Consulate of India in Chiang Mai, represented by Mr. Rajeev Tandon, Deputy Consul (Commerce). The Consulate presented an engaging cultural exhibition entitled “Hornbill Festival in Nagaland: A Pure Cultural Canvas of Nagaland Awaits You,” introducing visitors to the rich cultural heritage of Nagaland, India. Participants experienced Indian culture through displays of traditional products and interactive activities, including tastings of Assam Tea and the popular Indian street snack Pani Puri, offering an authentic glimpse into India’s diverse cultural traditions.

The lively atmosphere throughout the event reflected the strong collaboration between the University, schools, and external partners in creating meaningful educational experiences beyond the classroom. Humanities Day 2026 served not only as a platform for academic excellence and cultural exchange but also as an opportunity to inspire young people to appreciate the enduring value of the humanities in an increasingly interconnected world.
