The 14th National and International Humanities and Social Sciences (HUSOC) Network Conferences

On July 15, 2021, Honorary Professor Dr. Kanchana Ngourungsi, President of Naresuan University, gave an opening speech in the 14th National and International Humanities and Social Sciences (HUSOC) Network Conferences under the concept of Moving from Disruption to Resilience: The Dynamics of Humanities and Social Sciences, held online on July 15-16, 2021 at the Center for Information Technology and Communication Services, Naresuan University.

In the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Tanya Sangkhaphanthanon, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, gave a speech on the conferences’ objectives which originate from a collaboration of the Faculty of Humanities, Naresuan University, with the School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University, and the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Ubon Ratchathani University. The conferences’ objectives were to provide a stage for instructors, academics, researchers, university students, and the general public to realize and be aware of the importance of the body of knowledge in humanities and social sciences in social and economic development both domestically and internationally.  

The national and international conferences consist of major events, that is, special speeches by academic experts at humanities and social sciences as follows.

2. Professor Dr. Attachak Sattayanurak

Department of History, Faculty of Humanities, Chiang Mai University

 

3. Associate Professor Dr. Karin Zotzmann

Department of Modem Languages and Linguistics,

Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Southampton, UK

(Moderated and summarized in Thai by Assistant Professor Dr. Usa Padgate)

4. Professor Dr. Werner Bonefeld

Department of Politics, University of York, UK

(Moderated and summarized in Thai by Associate Professor Dr. Watcharabon Buddharaksa)

 

In addition, attendees, both of whom are the network members from around 30 faculties in Thailand and interested attendees in foreign countries, attended the academic conference presentations pertaining to humanities and social sciences, which were divided into eight groups as follows.

  1. Language (Thai Language / Linguistics / Literature) consisting of 17 presenters
  2. Foreign Languages (Linguistics / Literature / Studying and Teaching / Measurement and Evaluation) consisting of 17 presenters
  3. Social Sciences, Law, and Folklore Studies consisting of 17 presenters
  4. Management and Geoinformatics (Marketing / Tourism / Information) consisting of 12 presenters
  5. Music consisting of 13 presenters
  6. International_1  English Language Teaching and Tourism consisting of 18 presenters
  7. International_2 Social Science, Folklore, Linguistics and Foreign Languages consisting of 17 presenters
  8. International_3 Literature and Linguistics consisting of 12 presenters

 

Faculty of Humanities, Naresuan University, as a HUSOC 14 host (in collaboration with three major institutions) would like to extend our sincere thanks to the network members from around 30 faculties who collaborated to hold the conferences and hope that the organization of the conferences will bring a solid collaboration on undertaking activities to stimulate academic strengths, research conducted by educational institution network members, research in humanities and social sciences, in order to develop and apply to further instruction and research.
